When I was growing up, one of my favorite things was coming home from school, walking in the door and smelling freshly baked cookies (especially oatmeal cookies!) That’s probably why I love baking cookies in the afternoon before the kids get home from school…I want them to have the same wonderful memories!
This recipe for applesauce oatmeal cookies is my go-to recipe for after school treats. They’re really easy to make, they freeze well, and my kids love them (which meals there isn’t always a lot leftover to freeze)!
Even though this is a cookie recipe, it has some nutrition value with oats (a whole grain), a little flax (omega 3 fatty acids), and if you use sunflower seeds, a little protein too! Hey, we’ll take what we can get, right moms!
If you’re avoiding gluten, just be sure to get gluten free oats. Enjoy!
Free of dairy, egg, wheat, soy, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish.
